We see the potential of the local contemporary art scene making its mark on the global stage, but it lacks structure and the right people to take it further. We believe that professionals like us, together with our corporate background, can inject some much needed boost to the industry.
Artcube is the very first recipient of the loan from MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd. MyCreative is a company wholly-owned by the Ministry of Finance, set up by the government to spur the creative industry. Armed with a RM200 million fund, MyCreative is set to take the Malaysian creative industry to the next level. With MyCreative’s support, Artcube is set to become the leading contemporary art gallery in the country.
Here are the profiles of the directors at Artcube:
Azhar Ahmad, 39 years old, is trained as a Biochemist. He graduated from Griffith University, Queensland, Australia in 2000. His last professional stint was with Bruker, a USD3 billion German company, selling high- end scientific equipment to research organizations and universities nationwide.
Fuad Salleh, also 39 years old, is trained as an Electrical & Electronics Engineer. He graduated from KBU International College in 2000. He was the Section Head at KLCC Urus Harta Sdn Bhd, managing the Maxis Tower building.
